MOBILE ARTILLERY BCP · DEPLOYS IN 30–45 MIN

Vehicle-Mounted Expandable Battery Command Post (BCP) — a war room that deploys in 30–45 minutes.

Built on a rugged TATA 2.5 Ton GS truck, the BCP is a containerised expandable shelter that unfolds into a spacious, climate-controlled command room for six operators. It carries its own 2.5 kVA generator, OLTE/OFC fibre and radio communications, and dual telescopic masts — a self-sustained, network-enabled command post that moves with the regiment and directs artillery fire from forward areas.

    Overview

A command post that moves with the guns.

Traditional tent-based command posts are limited by poor weather protection, slow relocation, and vulnerability. The Vehicle-Mounted Expandable BCP replaces the tent with a protected, powered, and fully equipped command centre — a forward command post and artillery command post — that can reposition with artillery units into forward areas.

The Vehicle-Mounted Expandable Battery Command Post (BCP) is one of Neometrix's command post vehicles — a next-generation mobile headquarters designed to give artillery regiments the ability to command, communicate, and coordinate with speed and precision in the most demanding environments. Built on a rugged 2.5 Ton GS truck platform, it combines mobility with functionality, housing a containerised expandable shelter that unfolds on the battlefield to provide a spacious, climate-controlled workspace for commanders and operators.

More than a shelter — a secure, connected, self-sustaining hub for fire control and real-time communication.

Inside, it is equipped with fibre-optic and radio communication systems, telescopic masts for antennas and sensors, an independent power generation and distribution system, and ergonomic furniture to support extended missions. With rapid deployment, built-in safety systems, and dual-use potential in disaster management or border security operations, it is engineered to meet the modern demand for mobile, survivable, network-enabled command infrastructure.

    02
    Architecture

    Four systems, one shelter.

The BCP is organised around four functional blocks — the expandable shelter itself, an independent power system, a fibre and radio communications backbone, and dual telescopic masts — all housed on a single truck chassis.

    • Vehicle positioning — the GS truck parks on a level surface with handbrakes applied.
    • Shelter expansion — side walls slide out 500 mm each side and floor panels extend, secured with locking pins.
    • Mast deployment — the 10 m and 3 m telescopic masts are raised by pneumatic compressor or foot pump and secured with Kevlar guy ropes.
    • Power-up — the generator starts and power is distributed via the PDU; external AC supply can also be connected.
    • System activation — air-conditioning, lighting, fans and safety systems are switched on.
    • Commencement of operations — radios, fibre-optic communication and tactical computing systems go live.

Once activated, the BCP maintains continuous operation through its generator, batteries and external AC input, and is qualified against a 30-day continuous field trial as part of the standard acceptance procedure, with a standard delivery timeline of 270 days from order.

    FAQ

    Frequently asked questions.

Q · 01 What is the Vehicle-Mounted Expandable Battery Command Post (BCP)?
The BCP is a mobile, protected, and fully equipped command centre built on a TATA 2.5 Ton GS truck. Its containerised shelter expands on site to create a climate-controlled working environment for artillery fire control, with independent power, fibre-optic and radio communications, and telescopic masts.
Q · 02 How quickly can the BCP be deployed?
The BCP is fully operational within 30–45 minutes with a crew of 5–6 personnel — vehicle positioning, shelter expansion (500 mm slide-out walls each side), mast deployment, power-up and system activation are all part of the standard deployment sequence.
Q · 03 How does the BCP generate and manage its own power?
A 2.5 kVA silent petrol/diesel generator supplies onboard electricity, backed by a 24V battery bank (8 × 12V batteries) and an RCCB/MCB-protected power distribution system with a multifunction meter. A 230V AC mains connection is also available as secondary power.
Q · 04 What communication systems does the BCP carry?
The BCP integrates Optical Line Terminal Equipment (OLTE) with 1,000 m of Optical Fibre Cable (OFC) for encrypted, high-speed connectivity up to 10 Gbps over a 20 km reach, plus mounts for STARS V Mk II tactical radios and computers, linking the post to higher HQ and deployed batteries.
Q · 05 What are the mast systems used for?
The BCP carries two telescopic masts: a 10 m pneumatic mast (raised by compressor or foot pump) for heavy antenna arrays, radios or surveillance equipment, and a 3 m multipurpose mast for lighter devices and quick deployment. Both are secured with Kevlar guy ropes rated for winds up to 40 km/h.
Q · 06 How many operators does the BCP accommodate, and what is inside?
The shelter is designed for six operators, fitted with foldable workstations, revolving chairs, server racks, gun racks and storage cupboards. A 1-ton air conditioner, four wall-mounted fans, one exhaust fan and LED lighting support extended missions in temperatures from 0°C to 50°C.
Q · 07 What safety systems protect the crew and equipment?
Electrical protection uses RCCB/MCB circuit breakers, surge suppression and IS 1554-compliant FRLS internal wiring with an earthing grid. A smoke detector with alarms, a portable fire extinguisher, a lightning arrester and anti-static, skid-protected flooring round out the safety systems.
Q · 08 What is the delivery timeline and acceptance procedure for the BCP?
Standard delivery is 270 days from order. Before handover, each BCP undergoes a 30-day fault-free operational trial to verify continuous, reliable performance under field conditions.
Q · 09 What applications does the BCP support beyond artillery fire control?
Primary use is as an artillery fire control centre and mobile command post for regiments relocating without losing operational tempo. It also has civil/military dual-use potential for disaster management coordination, border security posts, and emergency response by paramilitary or disaster-relief teams.
Q · 10 Who manufactures the BCP, and is it customizable?
The BCP is designed and manufactured by Neometrix Engineering Pvt Ltd, India. Neometrix offers customized configurations of the shelter, power, communication and mast fit-out tailored to specific client and operational requirements.
    Q · 11 How can I get a quotation for the BCP?
