CM Transportation Module A3076: Live Rounds Move on Wheels, Not Shoulders
Manual handling of canisterised missiles is slow and manpower-heavy. Every move between storage, inspection and the flight line is a risk to both the people and the round. The Neometrix CM Transportation Module (Model A3076) replaces that effort with a purpose-built wheeled frame: four canisters, 1,400 kg in one load, moved by a two-person crew without any powered assistance.
Fully Mechanical, on Purpose
The module uses no hydraulics, no electrical power and no compressed air. For ordnance-handling environments that is a feature: there is nothing to fail on a flight line that has lost power, and nothing for a depot to maintain beyond a welded frame, wheels and pins.
The Four Subsystems
– Welded frame: 4,050 x 2,530 x 900 mm, built from 50 mm and 60 mm MS square pipe, weighing approximately 500 kg, with 8 lifting hooks (110 mm) for crane handling.
– Detachable wheel assemblies: solid rubber, 12-inch wheels, height-adjustable by 12 inches each, rated to 600 kg per wheel, weighing 35 kg per assembly, with 360-degree rotation and front/back locking.
– Double-pin canister mounts: 8 double pins per set (dia 18.5 mm x L175 mm and dia 11.5 mm x L122.8 mm), plus 4 guide pins (32.5 mm dia) for repeatable canister alignment, with no bespoke tooling for load-out.
– Tow-bar: 1,530 mm and 15.4 kg, for hitching behind a tug or hand-pulling across depot surfaces.
Precise Where It Matters
Because every wheel rotates fully and locks, a loaded trolley can be steered and parked precisely inside a depot bay or under a hardstand shelter. Each module is stencilled with its serial number (S.N-A3076P0001 series) and net frame weight, supporting the depot traceability that ordnance-handling record-keeping expects.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why a fully mechanical trolley rather than a powered one?
Because a handling aid for live rounds earns its place by being simple and dependable. With no hydraulics, electrics or compressed air, the A3076 can’t lose function when a flight line loses power, has no fluid to leak near ordnance, and needs only mechanical upkeep. Four canisters at 1,400 kg are moved by two people through wheel design and a tow-bar, not by stored energy.
How does the module keep canisters secure and aligned?
Through double-pin detachable mounts: two sets of 8 pins with different diameters and lengths secure each canister to the frame, supported by 4 guide pins on a 153 mm-wide strip that give repeatable alignment every time a canister is loaded, with no special tooling.
