When a light or empty freight wagon derails, the speed and control of the recovery operation determine how quickly the line re-opens and how safely the axle is restored to the rail. The Hydraulic Jack Machine is Neometrix's portable, double-acting hydraulic re-railing (tilting) jack system, built to bring a derailed axle back onto the track with precisely controllable lifting, lowering, pushing and pulling motion.

Quick set-up by virtue of light-weight parts — smooth, jerk-free operation even under full load and full stroke.

Each jack runs on a double-acting 490 bar hydraulic re-pressure system, delivering 212 kN of capacity at a 600 mm construction height and 400 mm stroke. High stability under load is achieved through an integral, large bottom flange, while mirror-finished, roller-burnished, hard-anodized contact surfaces reduce wear across repeated recovery cycles.

Duo Traversing jack with a hydraulic anchoring system is used in combination with a hooked wheel stop for lateral displacement of the derailed axle. A separate tilting jack variant is used mainly for re-railing one derailed axle of a two-axle light or empty freight wagon in cases where lifting and lateral displacement can be substituted by tilting the respective end of the vehicle towards the track — either once or repeatedly — and the jack is also useful in up-righting equipment.

Computer-aided design and high-strength light-metal alloy construction give the system an optimized strength-to-weight ratio and the highest portability in its class, with hollow, single-piece extruded light-metal-alloy re-railing bridges completing the kit.

How the Recovery Sequence Works
