Mobile Hydraulic Flushing Rig, flushing power that travels to the job.

A skid-mounted, forklift-portable hydraulic flushing rig for on-site decontamination of hydraulic circuits — wherever the system sits. Turbulent-flow flushing and multi-stage filtration down to 3 microns achieve NAS 1638 / ISO 4406 cleanliness in the field, not just on the shop floor.

Overview

A flushing rig that comes to you.

Not every hydraulic system can be brought to a shop-floor flushing station. The Mobile Hydraulic Flushing Rig is a high-performance, transportable version of Neometrix's flushing-rig platform — skid-mounted on a forklift-compatible frame so it can be moved to the aircraft, vehicle, vessel, or plant where the circuit actually lives.

Fig · 02 Control panel detail — pressure & temperature DROs, pump start/stop, gauge bank

The Mobile Hydraulic Flushing Rig generates turbulent flow, applies multi-stage fine filtration, and holds precise control of pressure and temperature to clean hydraulic circuits thoroughly — meeting stringent cleanliness standards such as NAS 1638 and ISO 4406. Advanced instrumentation, safety interlocks, and optional PLC automation are built in, the same as on Neometrix's fixed-installation Hydraulic Flushing Rig — but packaged for the field.

Skid-mounted, forklift-portable, and built to the same filtration standard as our shop-floor units — cleanliness doesn't have to wait for the system to come to the workshop.

It is ideal for on-site servicing in aerospace, defence, industrial, rail, marine and heavy-equipment sectors — delivering fast, reliable, and certifiable hydraulic flushing that protects system integrity and extends equipment lifespan, wherever the job is.

02
Architecture

A dual-pump circuit, built to purge.

A booster pump primes and pre-filters the circuit; a variable-displacement main pump then drives high-velocity turbulent flow through the system under test until cleanliness targets are met.

Sub · 01

Reservoir

600 L stainless steel (SS-304), baffled construction with level gauge and low/high level switches.

Sub · 02

Booster Pump

Fixed displacement, 200 LPM at 10 bar, 5.5 kW motor — primes and pre-filters supply to the main pump.

Sub · 03

Main Flushing Pump

Axial piston, variable displacement: 35 LPM at 350 bar up to 140 LPM at 30 bar, 30 kW motor, generating turbulent flow (Re > 3000).

Sub · 04

Cooling System

21.5 kW air-cooled heat exchanger rated for 140 LPM, holding outlet oil temperature below 60°C for stable flushing viscosity.

03
Filtration System

Four filter stages, 3 microns and finer.

Contaminants — metal shavings, seal residue, dust and water — are removed by high-pressure fluid passed through progressively finer filter stages, verified until the required cleanliness level is confirmed by sample or particle counter.

Staged filtration

  • Booster line: 10 µm → 6 µm → 3 µm progressive elements
  • Pressure line: 3 µm final element
  • Return line: 10 µm element
  • Filter features: clog indicators, bypass valves, magnetic pre-filter (optional)

Cleanliness result

The staged filtration achieves NAS 1638 Class 6 (equivalent to ISO 4406 16/14/11) under normal operating conditions, with turbulent flow at Reynolds number above 3000 ensuring mechanical dislodgement of particles from pipe walls and internal surfaces — not just fluid replacement at low velocity.

An optional integrated particle counter provides live NAS/ISO cleanliness display, so operators can confirm the target is met before disconnecting from the customer's system.

04
Mobility & Chassis

What makes it mobile.

The defining difference from a shop-floor flushing station: a welded skid frame sized for forklift handling, quick-disconnect service couplings, and an optional diesel-driven configuration for sites without mains power.

Mobile hydraulic flushing rig skid frame — forklift-compatible blue steel chassis with baffled SS-304 reservoir and air-cooled heat exchanger by Neometrix
Fig · 03 Skid frame & reservoir — forklift slots visible at base, heat exchanger and reservoir mounted within the blue steel cage
  • Frame dimensions: approx. 2200 × 1500 × 1800 mm (L × W × H), forklift-compatible skid frame
  • Weight: approx. 1500 kg dry, 2100 kg filled
  • Connections: 1″ BSP or optional QCDC (quick-disconnect couplings) for fast, leak-free connection at any job site
  • Diesel-powered option: portable rig configuration available for field operations without a mains electrical supply
  • Deployment: on-site servicing of excavators, cranes, backhoes, and heavy agricultural or construction machinery, alongside aircraft, tanks and UAV hydraulic actuation systems

Neometrix also builds a compact, fixed-installation Hydraulic Flushing Rig (NMX-HFR-140) sharing the same pump and filtration architecture, sized instead for a permanent shop-floor footprint. Choose the mobile trolley variant when the flushing job needs to travel; choose the fixed rig when it stays put on the production floor.

05
Control & Instrumentation

Instrumented for real-time traceability.

Every flushing pass is monitored on digital instrumentation, with an IP55 electrical panel and interlocked safety systems standard on every unit — manual as standard, PLC-automated as an option.

Instrumentation

  • Flow meter: 0–140 LPM, digital, 4–20 mA output, optional RS-485/USB logging
  • Temperature: RTD or thermocouple, 4–20 mA transmitter with digital readout
  • Pressure: booster, supply and return line gauges/transmitters, 0–400 bar range, 4–20 mA output
  • Electrical supply: 3-phase, 415 V AC, 50 Hz, IP55 control panel with MCBs and motor starters
  • Safety: E-stop, low-level shutdown, over-temperature cut-off, filter-clog alarms

Standard panel & optional PLC-HMI

Standard manual panel — toggle switches for pump operation, digital and analog gauges for flow, pressure and temperature, emergency stop and fault indicators.

PLC-based HMI (optional) — programmable flushing sequences, real-time data display on touchscreen, automatic shutdown on fault, particle-counter integration with cleanliness monitoring, and remote diagnostics over Ethernet/Modbus/USB.

In Depth

The complete technical read.

Engineering narrative for maintenance engineers, QA managers and procurement teams who want the complete picture before specifying an on-site flushing programme.

Overview

The Mobile Hydraulic Flushing Rig is a sophisticated, skid-mounted system designed to flush and decontaminate hydraulic pipelines, actuators, and power units. It uses controlled high-velocity turbulent flow, multi-stage filtration, thermal regulation, and real-time monitoring to achieve required fluid cleanliness levels — typically NAS 1638 Class 6 or better (ISO 4406 16/14/11). This ensures optimal protection of mission-critical hydraulic systems from wear, malfunction, and early failure due to contamination. Ideal for aerospace, defense, manufacturing, power generation, and mobile machinery, the rig is engineered to meet the most demanding hydraulic flushing requirements. Whether used for initial commissioning, post-maintenance cleaning, or routine service, it guarantees fast, repeatable, and certifiable flushing results — on-site, at the customer's location.

Key applications

  • Aerospace & Defense: Flushing flight control systems, servo-valves, and hydraulic actuation lines in aircraft, tanks, and UAVs.
  • Industrial Machinery: Cleaning hydraulic presses, injection molding machines, forging lines, and rolling mills.
